How to read NBA bets versus money
Bets % counts tickets. Money % measures reported dollars. Gap is money share minus ticket share in percentage points. Example only: a team at 35% of the spread tickets and 58% of the spread money has a gap of +23 points, which means the average wager on that side is larger within the sample. It does not tell you who placed those wagers, and it is not a predicted result.
The knife flag lights at a gap of 8 points or more; the big-money flag needs 65% of the money plus a 5-point gap, because NBA favorites often draw most of the money on their own.
Back-to-backs, rest and late injury news
NBA splits move for reasons other sports rarely see. A team on the second night of a back-to-back, a star listed as questionable at shootaround, or a rest decision announced an hour before tip can shift both the price and the mix of tickets and money late in the day. Compare percentages from the same market and the same timestamp, check the injury report, and use a recorded price history, like the line movement tracker, to establish a move instead of inferring it from one snapshot.
NBA spread, total and moneyline splits
The spread applies a points handicap: at -6.5 a team must win by seven or more; at +6.5 it covers by winning or losing by six or fewer. The total compares combined points with the posted over/under. The moneyline is a straight pick of the winner. NBA totals draw heavy recreational over action, so a total where the Under carries the smaller ticket share but the larger money share is a pattern worth reading next to the NBA odds board.

Where this data comes from, and its limits
Source. Splits are licensed from a third-party market-data feed that samples betting activity across regulated US sportsbooks. Percentages represent that tracked sample, not every dollar bet in America, and different books can show different mixes. Odds are compared across the regulated books we track, and the timestamp on the board shows the last refresh.
How to read it. A gap between ticket share and money share describes the distribution of wagers in this sample. It does not identify the bettors or establish the cause of a price change. The Wise Guy Desk combines these splits with expected-value math and line movement before anything reaches the board, and every resulting play is graded in public, win or lose.
