The Most Valuable Player award goes to the regular season's best player. A panel of 100 media members votes after the regular season, ranking five players scored 10, 7, 5, 3 and 1 points. Under the current CBA, MVP candidates must play at least 65 games, with limited exceptions, so health is part of every MVP price.

Defensive Player of the Year goes to the season's best defender, voted by the same media panel. Big men who protect the rim have won it most often, and like MVP it carries the 65-game minimum, so a missed month can sink a price.

Sixth Man of the Year goes to the best player who comes off the bench: he must appear in more games as a reserve than as a starter. Injuries to starters reshape this market fast, because a reserve promoted to the starting lineup can fall out of eligibility.

Most Improved Player odds

The top of this market is thinly traded (wide bid and ask), so we are not naming a favorite yet. The table ranks names by their highest bid.

Most Improved Player rewards the biggest jump from last season. It is the hardest award to price early, so its quotes are often wide: treat a wide bid and ask as a range, not a forecast.

Coach of the Year usually goes to the coach whose team most beats its preseason expectations, which is why favorites are often coaches of teams expected to improve rather than of the best team.

How to read these odds. Each row is a Kalshi contract that pays $1 if that person wins the award. Its price in cents is the market's implied chance: 25 cents is about a 25% chance. In American odds, a plus number is the profit on a $100 bet (+300 wins $300) and a minus number is what you risk to win $100 (-150 risks $150). Right now Victor Wembanyama costs 33¢ to buy, which is +203 before fees. The prices across every name add up to more than 100% because of the gap between bids and asks, and Kalshi charges a taker fee (0.07 x price x (1 - price) per contract), which is why the after-fee column is a little worse. Convert any price yourself with the prediction market odds converter.

Who is the favorite for NBA MVP?

Victor Wembanyama is the current MVP favorite at +203 on Kalshi, about a 33% implied chance, as of October 15, 2026 at 6:35 PM ET. The MVP table above lists every quoted candidate. MVP prices move on three things: team record (MVPs almost always come from top seeds), availability against the 65-game minimum, and the season-long story voters track.

Who is favored for Rookie of the Year?

Cameron Boozer leads the Rookie of the Year board at +285 (about 26%). Rookie markets are the most volatile of the major awards early in the season, because opportunity matters as much as talent.

When are the NBA awards announced?

The regular season tips off in late October and ends in April. Media ballots are due when the regular season ends, and the NBA announces the winners during the playoffs, in April and May. A Kalshi award contract settles when the winner is announced, so a position opened now runs the whole season.

How do NBA awards odds work?

An award bet is a futures bet: it pays only if your player (or coach) wins, and it is decided months from now. On a sportsbook the price shows as American odds; on Kalshi it is a contract priced in cents that pays $1 if the person wins, and the table converts it for you. Because the market can be sold before it settles, a Kalshi price is also a live read on how the season is going. For tonight's games, the free NBA picks and predictions, live NBA odds, NBA player props and NBA betting splits are updated every game day.

Frequently asked questions

What are the NBA MVP odds right now?

Victor Wembanyama leads at +203 on Kalshi (about a 33% implied chance), as of October 15, 2026 at 6:35 PM ET. The MVP table on this page lists every quoted candidate and updates through the season.

What are the Rookie of the Year odds?

Cameron Boozer leads the NBA Rookie of the Year board at +285 (about 26%). The Rookie of the Year section lists every quoted rookie.

Where do these NBA awards odds come from?

From Kalshi, a CFTC-regulated US prediction market. Our sportsbook odds feed carries championship futures but not award markets, so we show Kalshi's live quotes and convert them to American odds and implied chance. Sportsbook award prices will differ, and they include the book's margin.

Who votes for the NBA awards?

A panel of 100 media members chosen by the league. MVP ballots rank five players (10, 7, 5, 3 and 1 points); the other player awards rank three (5, 3 and 1).

What does a wide quote mean?

The bid and the ask are more than 10 cents apart, which happens on thinly traded awards like Most Improved Player early in the season. The midpoint of a wide quote is not a meaningful chance, so we show the range and skip the implied chance.

Is this a Wise Guy Team NBA awards pick?

No. This page shows market prices only. The Wise Guy Team posts no awards play; our documented daily plays are posted separately and every one is tracked, win or loss.
