How to read betting splits at DraftKings
Two numbers matter on every row: the share of bets (tickets) and the share of money (handle) on each side, shown market-wide. When the money share runs well ahead of the ticket share on one side, bigger and typically sharper accounts sit there - the classic sharp-money footprint. Reading that split next to DraftKings' actual price shows you whether DK is holding the popular side at a worse number than the market's best, which is exactly the spot where line shopping pays.
DK's line vs the market: why prices differ
DraftKings prices for its own book: its promotions, its liability, its customer mix. When DK carries heavy public money on a favorite, it can shade that side a few cents worse than books with balanced action - which is why the same bet is routinely a better price somewhere else. The Best-ML column above names the book with the strongest current price so you never pay DK's shade out of habit. Bets vs money: the split that matters
Ticket percentage tells you what the crowd likes. Money percentage tells you where the weight is. The gap between them is the actionable signal: 70% of bets but only 45% of the money on a side means the average wager there is small - public money. The reverse (45% of bets, 70% of money) means fewer, bigger bets - the side the serious accounts took. Full market splits by sport: NFL, college football, MLB, NBA.
Does this show DraftKings' internal numbers?
No - and no page that claims to is telling the truth. Sportsbooks do not publish house liability. What we show is honest and still powerful: market-wide public betting splits from our data provider, joined to the price DraftKings is actually posting right now. Where this data comes from, and its limits
Prices: DraftKings's posted line and the market-best line come from a live multi-book odds feed of the regulated US books we track, refreshed through the day. Splits: the bets% and money% figures are MARKET-WIDE public betting percentages from our splits provider - they describe the whole market, not DraftKings's internal house liability, which no sportsbook publishes. Prices move constantly; always confirm the current number in the DraftKings app before betting.
