๐Ÿ“˜ New to player props? A player prop is a bet on one player's stat line (like hits or strikeouts), over or under a number the book sets. +EV (edge) means the best price across books pays more than the true odds imply, the only proven way to profit long term. We only list props with a 3+ US-book consensus (so one stale line can't fake an edge) and always show the best price, because on props the same line can pay far more at one book than another. Today's MLB Prop Board at a Glance

The Wise Guy Desk graded 30 MLB player props across 11 games today, covering three markets: Hits, Total Bases, and Strikeouts. After running every line through our pricing model, 7 of those 30 cleared our +EV bar, meaning the best available price on those props pays more than what our numbers say the outcome is actually worth. That hit rate, roughly one in four, is typical for a full slate. Most props are priced fine. The job is finding the handful that are not, and this page teaches you exactly how we do it.

How Player Props Work

A player prop is an over/under bet on one player's stat line, not the game's outcome. A book might post a pitcher's strikeouts at 5.5, and you bet whether he finishes over or under that number. Every price includes vig, the sportsbook's built-in fee. If both sides of a prop are listed at -115, you are risking 115 to win 100, and the book keeps the gap. A bet is +EV, positive expected value, when the price you get pays more than the true odds of the outcome. If a hitter genuinely records two or more total bases 55 percent of the time, and a book prices the over as if it happens only 50 percent of the time, that gap is real value. You will still lose plenty of individual bets. The point is that over hundreds of them, the math is working for you instead of the house.

Why the Best Number Wins

Here is the single biggest edge in props: the price on the same prop varies wildly from book to book. Game lines get sharpened by huge betting volume, but prop markets are thinner, so one book might hang a strikeout total at 5.5 while another sits at 6.5, or price the same over at -105 versus -135. Those gaps sound small. They are not. A bettor who consistently takes -105 instead of -135 on the same bets needs to win far fewer of them to profit, and over a season that difference is the entire margin between a winning bettor and a losing one. Shopping for the best number across multiple books is not optional in this market. It is the strategy.

How We Find +EV

The Wise Guy Desk method is simple to describe and rigorous to run. For every prop, we pull prices from multiple US sportsbooks and build a no-vig consensus from at least three of them, stripping out the built-in fee to estimate the market's true probability for each outcome. Then we compare the single best available price against that fair number. If the best price beats the consensus by enough to clear our value bar, a threshold that filters out noise and small discrepancies, the prop qualifies as +EV and earns a ranked edge. Today, 7 of 30 made that cut. Nothing about this involves hunches or narratives. It is a price comparison, done systematically, every day.

Reading the Board Above

The free board on this page gives you the raw material: every graded prop with its current lines and the best available price at each book. Use it to shop. Before you bet any prop anywhere, check whether another book is offering a better number, because taking the worst price on a good idea quietly erases the value. What the free page does not show is which 7 props cleared our bar today and how big each edge is. That ranked board, sorted by expected value, lives in the members +EV tool. The method here is free and it works on its own. The finished output is the paid product.

MLB Player Props Today FAQ

What are the best MLB player props today?

There are 30 MLB player props on today's board, with the best price on each shown above. 7 of them clear our +EV value bar; the ranked edge on each (how much the price beats the true odds) is inside the members +EV tool.

How do you find +EV MLB props?

We compare the best price across regulated US sportsbooks to the no-vig fair price from a 3-or-more-book consensus. When the best available price pays more than that fair line, the prop is +EV. We rank by that edge and always point you to the book with the best number.

Are these MLB prop picks free?

Yes. This is a free Wise Guy Desk board, our analysis, not Ross's official plays. Ross's documented plays are bet with real money and graded win or loss on the members board.
