Before you size a single bet, you need two things: a bankroll, and a unit.

Your bankroll is money you keep just for betting. Set it once in Stake sizing, and the boards size every stake from it.

Stakes are shown in units. 1 unit is 1% of your bankroll. So with a $1,000 bankroll, 1 unit is $10.

Why so small? Every edge is an estimate, and even a good bet loses often. The edge only shows up over hundreds of bets, so the stake matters more than any one result.

Our boards use quarter Kelly by default, because full Kelly swings hard. And the AI Coach never goes over 2 units on a play.

One more thing: WGT's published record always counts $100 as 1 unit. That's separate from your own unit, which is 1% of your bankroll.

Next: beating the closing line.
