Five Draws in Ten Matches
Take the last five results for each club and you get ten matches. Five of them finished level. That is the whole story of this Friday fixture before a single price hits the board, and it is a number that should change how you bet it. Draws are not a rare accident in the Bundesliga. Here they are the base case.
The Matchup
Eintracht Frankfurt come in on DDWLD, newest first: draw, draw, win, loss, draw. So they are unbeaten in two, but they have not strung wins together, and three of five matches ended tied. Cologne read DLDLW, newest first: draw, loss, draw, loss, win. Their only victory in the window is the oldest result on the list, and they have alternated between losses and draws since.
Neither side is in free fall. Neither is rolling. We do not have a league table snapshot in front of us, so we are not going to pretend to know exactly where each club sits. What we do have is the form, and the form says tight, low-separation soccer. Frankfurt get Deutsche Bank Park, which matters, and Cologne arrive as the road side with a single win in five.
How Soccer Betting Works
This is the piece American bettors get wrong most often. Soccer is sold as a three-way moneyline, which means there are three outcomes you can bet: home win, away win, or draw. In the NFL or NBA, a bet on either team covers every result because somebody has to win. Not here. If this match ends 1-1, everyone holding Frankfurt loses, everyone holding Cologne loses, and only the draw ticket cashes. That is why the two team prices in soccer look longer (more generous) than you would expect.
You are being paid extra because roughly a quarter of matches, and in this form sample half of them, end with nobody winning. Two products exist to deal with that. Draw no bet means you back a team and get your stake refunded if it ends level, so the draw becomes a push instead of a loss. Double chance means you cover two of the three outcomes at a shorter price. Both cost you payout in exchange for removing the draw risk.
The Numbers
Odds are not posted yet for this one, so we are not quoting prices we do not have. Here is the discipline when they do post. Pull up at least three books and compare the home price, the away price and the draw price side by side. The gap between the best and worst three-way price in a mid-table Bundesliga match is routinely worth several cents on the dollar, and that gap is yours for free.
Add the three implied probabilities together. They will total more than 100 percent, and the overage is the house margin (the vig). The more books you check, the lower the effective margin you are paying. Then check the draw-no-bet and double-chance prices separately, because books do not always price those as cleanly as the main three-way.
Where the Value Is
No-vig fair value means stripping the house margin out of the three prices so they add to exactly 100 percent. That is the market's honest estimate. You only bet when a book is offering more than that fair number. The math in dollars is simple. For illustration only: if your fair read says a side wins 48 percent of the time and a book pays +120, a $100 bet returns $120 on a win.
Multiply: 0.48 times $120 is $57.60, minus 0.52 times $100 lost, leaves about $5.60 of expected profit per $100. Flat price, same side, at +105 instead, and that edge is gone. Given five draws in ten recent matches, we think the straight home win is the trap here and the draw-protected version of Frankfurt is where the honest edge lives.
Conditions
Deutsche Bank Park in Frankfurt, a true home environment for Eintracht and a long, unforgiving trip for a Cologne side that has won once in five. No weather information is available to us at this stage.
The Pick
Frankfurt draw no bet. You win if Eintracht win, you get your money back if it finishes level, and you lose only if Cologne take all three points on the road. Price it at every book you have access to before you fire, because this is exactly the market where the numbers drift.

The Prediction
Frankfurt are the better-positioned side at home against a visitor that has not won since the oldest game in its form string, but the draw risk is real enough that we will pay for the insurance. Projected scoreline: Frankfurt 2-1. That is the read on the number; the Desk posts a documented free play on days like this, and it sits right below.
Eintracht Frankfurt vs FC Cologne FAQ
Who is favored in Eintracht Frankfurt vs FC Cologne?
Five draws across ten recent matches make this a stalemate risk, which is exactly why we lean Frankfurt on the draw-no-bet rather than the straight home win.
Can you bet on a draw in Bundesliga?
Yes. Soccer's standard bet is the three-way moneyline: home win, away win, or draw in 90 minutes. The draw is a real, often valuable outcome, and a draw makes both win bets lose, which is the biggest adjustment for bettors coming from American sports.
Are these Bundesliga picks free?
Yes. This is a free Wise Guy Desk breakdown, our analysis, not Ross's official plays. Ross's documented plays are bet with real money and graded win or loss on the members board.
