Two Prices That Look Identical, One That Actually Pays
You can bet either team at +100 in this game. That does not mean the market sees them as equal. Strip out the sportsbook's built-in cut and the New York Jets come out at 51.4 percent, the Las Vegas Raiders at 48.6 percent. Same price on the board, different value behind it. That gap is the whole story of Raiders vs Jets on Sunday, November 1, 2026, kickoff 1:00 PM ET at MetLife Stadium, and it is worth understanding before you touch a number.
The Matchup
As of publication the Las Vegas Raiders are 3-3 and sit 3rd of 4 in the AFC West. The New York Jets are 2-4 and sit 3rd of 4 in the AFC East. This is a Week 8 crossover between conference rivals who do not share a division, so there is no season series history in front of us here, just two middling teams and a market that cannot pull them more than a point and a half apart.
New York is the home side and the slim favorite, meaning the market gives them the better chance to win. Las Vegas is the underdog, the side given the lesser chance. In Jets vs Raiders terms, the host carries the edge by the thinnest margin the board offers.
Players to Watch
Geno Smith has played all six of the Jets' six games: 122 of 177 for 1,336 yards, 7 touchdowns and 1 interception, which is 20.3 completions on 29.5 attempts for 222.7 yards per game, 1.2 touchdowns and 0.2 picks. Kirk Cousins has also played six of six for Las Vegas: 135 of 213 for 1,582 yards, 14 touchdowns and 5 interceptions, or 22.5 of 35.5 for 263.7 yards, 2.3 touchdowns and 0.8 interceptions per game.
Same sample, two different shapes. Cousins is producing more yards and more touchdowns per game while also giving the ball away four times more often than Smith on the season. Smith is the cleaner operator. Cousins is the bigger swing in both directions, and that volatility matters more at a 43.5 total than almost anything else on the field.
The Numbers
Moneyline first. A moneyline bet is simply picking the winner, margin irrelevant. The Raiders are +100, best price at Bally Bet: risk $100, profit $100.00 if they win, lose $100 if they do not, break-even 50 percent. The Jets are also +100, best price at Novig, with the identical payout math. The point spread is the margin bet. Raiders +1.5 at -112 (Bally Bet) profits $89.29 per $100 risked and needs 52.8 percent to break even. It wins if Las Vegas wins outright or loses by 1 or fewer, and it loses on a 2-point defeat.
There is no push at a half point. Jets -1.5 at +100 (DraftKings) profits $100.00 per $100 risked, break-even 50 percent, and wins only if New York wins by 2 or more. A 1-point Jets win loses that ticket. The total is 43.5 combined points. Over 43.5 at -108 (Novig) profits $92.59 per $100 risked, break-even 51.9 percent. Under 43.5 at -109 (Bally Bet) profits $91.74 per $100 risked, break-even 52.2 percent. Those book names matter. Taking a worse version of the same bet is how small edges die.
Where the Value Is
No-vig fair price is the market's own read with the sportsbook's cut removed. It is not the truth, it is the market's number cleaned up. Fair for the Jets is about -106, fair for the Raiders is about +106. So Jets +100 at Novig pays more than the market's own read: plus $2.80 per $100 risked, positive expectation. Raiders +100 pays less than it should: minus $2.80 per $100 risked. Expected value is just the long-run average per bet, not what happens Sunday.
Every other number here is negative on the same $100 basis. Raiders +1.5 at -112 carries a 51.2 percent no-vig cover number against a 52.8 percent break-even, minus $3.09 per $100 risked, fair price about -105. Jets -1.5 at +100 is minus $2.40 per $100 risked. Over is minus $3.70, Under is minus $4.13. One side of this board beats its own fair price, and it is the home favorite's moneyline.
Injuries
Six names, three per team. New York lists Joseph Ossai and Dylan Parham as questionable, which means genuinely uncertain, and Adonai Mitchell as doubtful. Las Vegas lists Tonka Hemingway as questionable, with Carter Runyon and Dont'e Thornton Jr. on injured reserve and out of this one. Losing two pass catchers to IR thins the Raiders' options around Cousins. Final designations land on Friday, October 30, two days before the Sunday kickoff.
The Pick
Jets moneyline +100 at Novig. Risk $100 to profit $100.00, break-even 50 percent, against a market-implied 51.4 percent with the vig removed. That is the only price in this game that pays more than the market's own number. If your book has New York at -105 or worse, the edge is gone, so shop it.

The Prediction
Smith's low-interception profile at home against a Cousins offense missing two receivers to injured reserve is the quiet reason we land on New York. Jets 23, Raiders 20. That adds to 43 points, which is below the total of 43.5, so it sits on the Under side, though we are not paying -109 for a 50 percent proposition. Note also that our projected 3-point margin would cash the moneyline, and a 1-point Jets win would too, which the -1.5 spread ticket would not. That is the read on this number, and the Desk posts a documented free play on days like this one right below.

How does the Wise Guy Desk find value in NFL games?
Expected value first: the best price across the regulated US books we track versus the true fair price with the vig removed, then the matchup data (form, standings, injuries, key players). Line shopping for the best number is the edge most bettors leave on the table.
