What is in the MLS preview archive?

Every MLS game preview the Wise Guy Desk published, kept exactly as it read before the game: the matchup read, the odds snapshot with the best price we found across the US sportsbooks we track, injuries and form, and the Desk's free lean when there was one. After the game each page is marked as ended, with the verified final score where we have it. Nothing is rewritten after the result.

How should I use old MLS previews?

Use them to study how a market moved and why. Compare the price a preview quoted with where the line closed: beating the closing number consistently is one of the best signs of a sharp bettor (see closing line value). Desk previews are free analysis, not official plays; Ross's documented plays are graded win or loss on the documented record and the graded picks ledger. How to use the MLS archive

Right now the MLS archive holds 60 previews across 3 months, from August 2026 to October 2026. The busiest month is October 2026 with 33 previews.

  1. Start with the newest month and scan the game days.
  2. Open a preview to read the matchup, the quoted price and the injury notes as they stood before the game.
  3. Check the final score line on the page, then compare the quoted price with the closing number.
  4. Repeat across a month to see where the market moved and why.

Worked example: measuring closing line value

You bet a side at -110 (52.38% implied). By game time the market closes at -125 (55.56% implied).

The market moved 3.2 points of implied probability toward your side after you bet, so you beat the close by 3.2 points. Bet at -125 and watch it close at -110 and the number is negative, which is the line telling you the market disagreed.

Common questions

How do I find an old MLS preview?

Open the month, then the game day. Every preview is listed by day with the final score where we have one.

Are archived MLS previews still current?

No. They are kept as published before the game and marked as ended. Current games are on the MLS Predictions hub.

Can I use the archive to check a price?

Yes. Each preview quotes the best price we found when it was written. Compare it with the closing number to see whether the market moved your way.
