One Team Is Unbeaten In Five. It Is Not The Favorite.
FC Dallas walks into Bank of America Stadium with four wins and a draw in its last five. Charlotte FC has won two of five and drawn two more. And yet the market makes Charlotte the favorite at +120 while Dallas sits out at +200. That gap between form and price is the entire story of this game. Home field is doing heavy lifting here, and when a market leans that hard on one input, the third outcome usually gets forgotten.
The Matchup
Charlotte's last five read LWDWD, newest first. That is a loss, a win, a draw, a win, a draw. Two of those five ended level. Dallas reads WDWWW, so four wins and a draw, no losses. We were not handed table positions for either club, so we are not going to guess at them. The odds are the honest proxy for where these teams stand, and the odds say Charlotte is a modest home favorite over a visitor playing its best soccer of the stretch. Both profiles point the same direction: these are teams that have been drawing games, not blowing them open.
How Soccer Betting Works
If you come from football or basketball, the big adjustment is this. Soccer uses a three-way moneyline. There are three betting outcomes after 90 minutes plus stoppage time, not two: home win, away win, or draw. Here that is Charlotte +120, Dallas +200, draw +300. The draw is a real ticket you can buy, and it is the trap for newcomers.
If you bet Charlotte and the game finishes 1-1, you do not get your money back. You lose. Same if you bet Dallas. The draw does not push anything. It beats both win tickets at once. In MLS, level scorelines are common enough that this third door matters every single week.
One more term. The plus number tells you what $100 profits. Charlotte +120 returns $120 profit on a $100 win. Draw +300 returns $300. Total goals 3.5 means you are betting whether both teams combined score four or more (Over) or three or fewer (Under).
The Numbers
Best prices across the books we track: Charlotte FC +120 at BetMGM, the draw +300 at Kalshi, FC Dallas +200 at theScore Bet. On the total, Over 3.5 is +130 at BetRivers and Under 3.5 is -156 at Kalshi (-156 means you risk $156 to win $100). Those are three different books holding three of the four best numbers. That is why we shop. Taking the Dallas price at a book posting +185 instead of +200 costs you real money across a season without changing a single opinion.
The no-vig fair probabilities, meaning the market's true read once the house margin is stripped out, are Charlotte 44%, draw 25%, Dallas 32%. On the total, the fair split is roughly Under 58%, Over 42%.
Where the Value Is
Convert the best prices back to percentages and the picture snaps into focus. Charlotte +120 needs to win 45.5% of the time to break even, and fair is 44%. Slight loss. Dallas +200 needs 33.3%, and fair is 32%. Slight loss. The draw at +300 needs exactly 25.0%, and fair is exactly 25%. That is a zero-vig bet, a rarity. The house has no edge on that ticket at Kalshi's number.
Expected value is just long-run profit per bet. At true 25%, a $100 draw ticket at +300 returns $0 over time. But we think 25% is low. Three of the ten most recent matches between these two clubs ended level, and both sides are in tight, low-variance stretches. Nudge the real draw rate to 28% and a $100 bet earns 0.28 x $300 minus 0.72 x $100, or roughly $12 of expected profit. That is the entire edge, and it only exists at +300.

The Pick
Draw +300 at Kalshi. It is the only number on the board priced at or better than fair, and the form profiles of both clubs support it.

The Prediction
Dallas is good enough to travel and take something. Charlotte is good enough at home not to lose it. We project 1-1, with Under 3.5 goals (-156 at Kalshi) as the supporting read if you want the safer version of the same thesis. Take the +300 or pass; a shorter price kills the edge outright. Can you bet on a draw in MLS?
Yes. Soccer's standard bet is the three-way moneyline: home win, away win, or draw in 90 minutes. The draw is a real, often valuable outcome, and a draw makes both win bets lose, which is the biggest adjustment for bettors coming from American sports.
