Ticket percentage tells you what the public thinks. Handle percentage tells you what the sharps think. The gap between them is where we make money.

Who is betting. Driven by name recognition, recent results, and emotion. This is noise.
Where the actual dollars are. Sharps, syndicates, and pros bet large. This is signal.
The 4 Signs Sharp Money Is Moving
- 1 Tickets and handle disagree When 75% of bets land on Team A but only 50% of the dollars do, the public is small-betting one side while sharps are large-betting the other. Follow the dollars.
- 2 Big handle on the underdog Casuals bet favorites and overs. When real money lands on a dog, somebody who knows something just fired. We pay attention.
- 3 Frozen line despite heavy public action When 80%+ of bets pile on one side and the line refuses to move, the book is showing you who they want to win. We bet with the books.
- 4 Reverse line movement When the public hammers Team A and the line moves toward Team B, sharp money has overpowered retail flow. The book just told you who is right.
